Introducing Security BulletinsOnline security is a growing threat for everyone. Technology companies have a duty to protect and inform customers (and the public) whenever security incidents take place. For that reason, we are launching security bulletins. Whenever a security related incident takes place, we are going to publish the following: incident summary, background and password change steps. It’s one of the many things we do to protect our customers.
Requested Writer LaunchedUltius proudly presents one of our most important customer features – requested writer. Clients can now request specific writers they have worked with before right from the order form. Customers build writer lists through adding them to favorites (or block lists). From there, the order form intelligently recommends which writer is available using our Availability Intelligence technology. This feature took us a long time to build and represented a long-awaited customer request.
Introducing Dial-In PINsUltius is happy to announce that we have officially launched customer dial-in PINs, a security practice designed to protect customer information. When customers register a new account, they are prompted to create a 4-digit PIN code that is used to verify identity before customer records are discussed. Dial-in PINs are an industry standard for banking, telecommunications, and financial services companies - and Ultius is excited to be a leader in implementing this measure for its growing online marketplace.
Ultius Presents "On Your Schedule."Hooray! After months of planning, filming and editing, Ultius proudly released its first short-length, live-action brand video, “On Your Schedule.” The video showcases one day in the life of Lauren, a young professional who is also in college, trying to finish editing her essay while balancing a rigorous work schedule.
Over 1500 Writers Work for UltiusWhen Ultius first launched in 2010 we knew that we would be helping the knowledge economy grow by providing freelance writing jobs for professionals around the country. Today we are happy to announce that we have crossed the 1,000 writer threshold. As our platform continues to grow we look forward to providing a world-class infrastructure for all of our writers.
Volunteering - Community Cleanup Days LaunchedOn April 3rd, 2015 Ultius launched its newest community initiative, Community Cleanup Days. Once a month, eight lucky staff members put on our bright orange “clean up” shirts and picked up trash, swept, and raised awareness towards the environment within our business plaza. We are excited to host Community Cleanup Days once a month in order to help make our community a better place.

Newly Built HQ in Las Vegas, NVAfter months of planning, construction, and touchups, the staff finally moved into our newly built office space in Las Vegas, NV. The new 2600 square foot space gave us plenty of room for our new employees. We also took the opportunity to decorate the space with a series of inspirational posters, fine art, and a new Keurig coffee machine.

Version 5.0 LaunchedIn April of 2014, Ultius launched the 5.0 version of its website and flagship order management software. This version includes some major improvements such as mobile and tablet friendly interfaces, advanced revision management, as well as over one hundred other small improvements.

New Headquarters in Las Vegas, NVOn February 14th, 2014, Ultius opened the doors to its new headquarters with an office that also doubled as a call center. Now, our call center works around the clock to provide customers with support via voice, text, email and live chat.
Ultius Identity Verification LaunchedIn a company wide effort to fight fraudulent online purchases, Ultius launched the UIV program. Since its inception, we have worked hard to keep consumers safe by screening transactions and verifying the authenticity of orders coming through our system. To this day, we still widely use this system and will continue to do so.
New Logo Released (2013)In 2013, it was time for another major change. We redesigned our logo and introduced another major change to our website design and color scheme. The new logo featured a flat design which emphasized the seriousness and professionalism that we wanted to portray. This major iteration also helped define us a content writing company rather than an education company.
Listed on Better Business Bureau ®The Better Business Bureau ® is an organization focused on improving consumer trust in the world of commerce. On July 31, 2013, Ultius became officially listed and started with a B rating. We value the BBBs focus on improving consumer awareness about the products and services that they buy. Since then, we have gained an A rating.
Version 3.0 LaunchedIn May of 2012, we launched the third major version of our website. This version featured a newly designed client login and order management system. This new system also progressed our order fulfillment infrastructure by allowing us to better match customer orders with the right writer in their field of study.
New Logo Released (2012)Out with the old, in with the new. It was time for Ultius to get a face lift. On March 21, 2012, Ultius launched a new logo that featured a new color scheme that we still use today: blue and orange. While we were very nostalgic and sad about retiring our old logo, we were even more excited about getting a fresh new look as the company grew.
Ultius Raises Angel InvestmentSometimes big ideas need additional capital in order to move forward. On January 10, 2012, Ultius closed a small round of funding via an angel investment. We used these funds to help build the 3.0 version of our website and our flagship order management software.
Version 2.0 LaunchedThe 2.0 version of our website was primitive, but it got the job done. This was the first time that we introduced a major revamp of our order management system. In this version, writers could log in and see available orders. This version took roughly three months to build and still used our old brown and white logo.
First Writer HiredWhile Ultius currently contracts hundreds and hundreds of freelance writers, at one point we only had one. In the early days, we didn't receive many orders so a single person could handle the volume. Since the start, we have focused on only hiring American writers with strong academic backgrounds.
Domain Name Purchased For $3.99Ultius started as just a simple side project for writing cover letters and resumes. On December 22, 2010 the domain name www.ultius.com was registered via GoDaddy. Our humble start shows that even most basic concept has the capacity to grow into a strong online based business.
